Teresa and Eugene Jurczuk founded DJ’s Market on the corner of Howell and Boston Streets in Dorchester in 1979, after immigrating to Boston from Poland in 1963 with 5 of their 7 children. With a strong commitment to quality and tradition, they built DJ’s Market into a hub for the community, offering authentic Polish foods, groceries, and homemade specialties. In 2005, after years of hard work and dedication, Teresa and Eugene passed the torch to their oldest daughter, Alina Morris, who had grown up helping in the market. Under Alina’s leadership, DJ’s Market has continued to flourish and evolve, staying true to its roots while expanding offerings to meet the changing needs of our customers. Now, over 20 years later, DJ’s Market remains a proud family-owned business deeply integrated into the fabric of Dorchester.
